A collaboration between customer and supplier at its best

SVAB provide a range of fabrication services to Stack Infra during the construction of their data center facility. Stack Infra are extremely satisfied with the quality of work and relationship with SVAB.

When Stack Infra was asked by a customer in the security industry, if they could guarantee Resistance class RC4, to cage a number of servers, they looked around the market. There were providers who were able to provide the security class, but not without resulting in hot work requirements which as a consequence would cause disturbance to the data center operations. Then Stack Infra approached Jarmo Sääf, from Stockholms Verkstadsaktiebolag and Crowbar Security Solutions AB, and the smart design with a modular solution was born.

“A really brilliant idea,” says Niclas Nyström, Operations Manager at Stack Infra Sweden. Like a big mechano set where we can transport the material piece by piece, and build it completely without hot work or impact to the operation of the server hall.

Certified for Resistance Class 4
Stack Infra customer did not only need a sound product but also security classification, and in January 2017, FerraPod received its security certificate from SP, Sweden’s Technical Research Institute: RC4 according to EN 1627-30 against burglary. And today, the customer with the very high security requirements, have a solution which meets all their expectations.

The cage is built from within, but as it holds RC4 for intrusions outside, it is also true to trying to get out of the cage.

The unique feature is the flexibility and simplicity
FerraPod can be customized according to any dimensions, after posts, vent pipes and other items in the customer’s premises. However, in order to fulfill RC4-rating according to EN1627, the cage must be 3m high if it is to be left freestanding.

Since FerraPod is assembled in situe without welding it is a simple process to improve and strengthen the physical protection of the existing structure. Damage or impact to the facility floor is completely avoided in cases where the FerraPod cage is only positioned in place since the weight alone prevents it from being moved. Normally, however, the feet are bolted or screwed into the floor.

FerraPod is owned by Crowbar Security Solutions AB
The trademark FerraPod is owned by Crowbar Security Solutions AB, a company located in Sollentuna. It is a service-focused company that does not hesitate to face major customer challenges. FerraPod is a prime example of this philosophy.
